Our state certified 100% Kona coffee is grown on our 5 acre family owned farm located in Honaunau on the Island of Hawai'i. We have 1,700 coffee trees at 1500 feet elevation, our "mauka" or upper elevation grown coffee is in our opinion a vastly superior taste. Each coffee bean must be hand picked which insures that only the plumpest red cherry will be used. After processing we roast our beans to a medium (full city) roast which brings out the best taste. Kona coffee for many years has had an excellent reputation as a premier coffee. Our Kona Coffee Council approved coffee is processed and roasted under local and state guidelines which are closely monitored. What does 100% Kona Coffee really mean? Many less expensive brands of coffee sell what is called a Kona blends which means that only 10% of the beans are from the Kona district, the other 90% being a lower grade of coffee from other countries.
